Fifteen Cars Towed From 'Chain-Reaction' Crash On Mass Pike In Brimfield: Police

More than a dozen cars and were involved in a "chain-reaction" crash that injured multiple people on the Mass Pike in Brimfield this week, authorities said.

State Troopers responded to the crash involving multiple tractor-trailers and cars on I-90 East in Brimfield around 11:20 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, Massachusetts State Police report. 

About 15 vehicles towed from the scene and all passengers were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The severity of their injuries is unknown, police said.

Authorities believe the icing on the road caused the crash. No other information was released.
